The lake Smartinsko jezero is the current record holder for the biggest (heaviest) carp ever caught in Slovenia. The fish weighs 34,60 kg.
Big carps are no surprise there. The lake measures 113 ha and is one of the largest man made lakes in Slovenia. The depth is between 4 and 6 m, which is optimal for largest of specimens.
